Cardano ties up with Georgian Wineries
The Cardano Foundation recently announced that the platform is developing a blockchain solution to assure the quality and authenticity of Georgian wine.
The blockchain technology collaborated with the National Wine Agency of Georgia, the Bolnisi Winemakers Association, and Scantrust.
Mel McCann, the Vice President of Engineering of Cardano, in his statement:
The Cardano Foundation takes pride in its technical integration initiatives that foster the development of solutions for all kinds of systems and companies. The collaboration will make way for a creative, cost-effective, and flexible certification and traceability system, providing transparency and authenticity for wineries and customers from harvesting to consumption.
The four partners will work in tandem to create a flexible, open track and trace solution to enhance the international standing of Georgia as a premier wine producer.
The Cardano Foundation will manage the collaboration— assisting individual wineries by establishing a shared, scalable platform that boosts customer engagement and is cost-efficient for winemakers. In addition, a prototype program will be expanded in Bolnisi city; it will serve both local and export markets.
Over 100,000 bottles will be featured in the autumn of 2022. The bottles will have a secure QR code, allowing customers to verify the authenticity of the products, and you can also learn about their history.
Moreover, the National Wine Agency will leverage the Cardano blockchain to bring about open, verifiable records from existing wine collection data on wine aimed at expert markets.
