Meta CEO’s Net Worth dropped to $71 Billion in the Last Year

Turning his company into Meta was not an easy ride for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The transition cost him a lot in the near run, with his net worth dropping considerably to $71 billion in 2022.

He dropped to the lowest position so far since 2014, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He ranks 20th on the billionaires of the world list. Zuckerberg’s net worth was approximately $106 billion in 2020, leading Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Microsoft founder Bill Gates. As Facebook shares surged to $382, Zuckerberg’s net worth reached $142 million.

But as the company rebranded and experienced subsequent losses, his net worth dropped to $55.9 billion. In February 2022, the Meta CEO lost $31 billion due to his company.

While Metaverse enjoys center stage with its numerous apps, Facebook apparently did not gain any new monthly users, pushing share values down. Most of Zuckerberg’s wealth relies on Meta=, and hence, the company’s halt in its operations dented him. The new index will certainly act as an early warning.
