Musk says 90% of Twitter Comments are Bots.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, tweeted a snapshot of replies to Musk’s tweet purporting to be Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao. He claimed that 90% of his comments are bots. The official Twitter account of Binance replied, “Twitter, please, I see enough of my boss already.”
What followed was a reply from Zhao himself to say that although he is the actual poster below the tweet, 90% of Musk’s replies are bots. Musk has pledged $44 billion to buy Twitter for $54.20 a share, commencing the long and challenging journey to get his hands on the social media site.
Musk wants statistics
When Musk made the announcement that he was planning to make the purchase, Zhao invested $500 million in the deal. Two other prominent cryptocurrency-focused VC companies, Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, contributed $800 million and $400 million, respectively. Musk was ambitious about bringing transformation to Twitter before attempting to back out of the deal. He reportedly wanted to open-source Twitter to allow people to critique it, improve it, identify bugs, bias, etc. Additionally, a subscription system that accepts Dogecoin was to be developed, with an edit button to make changes to published content.
Musk has been suing Twitter since their original agreement was signed in April. Musk alleged that Twitter misrepresented the abundance of spam accounts on the platform. Musk also dramatically said the transaction could not move forward unless Twitter made the information public. As Musk signed a $44 billion merger deal with the platform, he claims in the petition that Twitter hoodwinked him.
